Maurice B. Cowieson (Mussar, 2021) Tet. 9" bloom on scapes 44" tall with 2 way branching and a bud count of 12. Stats were taken from field grown plants with minimal care, meaning left to fend for itself so I expect it to perform better with any level of care at all. The blooms are large, orange and open formed with yellow to green throats. It is a mid to late season bloomer with dormant foliage. The pod parent is Big Birds Friend and the pollen parent is White Eyes Pink Dragon, both cultivars from Jamie Gossard. I have not tested the fertility of this cultivar yet.
I registered several plants this year as memorial or tribute plants for friends and family. Then my wife reminded me that I had not yet registered one in memory of her late father. It was the first time she had mentioned it and I quickly corrected the error of my ways. Maurice B. Cowieson is a bold and imposing plant that will catch your eye every time.
