Charlie On A Harley (Mussar, 2021) Tet. 7" bloom, 48" scape with 3 branches and a bud count of 15. It is a mid season bloomer with dormant foliage. The large, open form blooms are a burnt red in colour with a darker eye above a green throat. The parents are Curt Hanson's Chew Mailpouch Tobacco x Bryan Culver's Barbara White. Pod and pollen fertile.
This is my second introduction from Chew Mailpouch Tobacco with the other being my 2019 intro I Am The Walrus. Both are impressively tall and have a striking presence in the garden. I am fascinated with tall daylilies and these stand up well in the garden. I've never seen them flop. With these lines I'm looking to extend the colour range, forms and look of very tall daylilies. Name was inspired from one I saw on a horse racing form and I liked it.
