Augie's Baby (Mussar, 2021) Tet. 5" bloom, 33" scape with 3 way branching and a bud count of 12. It is an early-mid season bloomer with semi-evergreen foliage. The blooms have a deep yellow base overlaid with streaks and spots of burgundy red above a green throat. Pod parent is Augie's Unique Beauty which is northern bred and the first of the new broken colour cultivars to come to market back in 2007. Pollen parent is Nicole Devito.s Undefinable which has popularized broken colour cultivars but it struggles in the north.
Augie's Baby comes from my first crop of Undefinable kids where I marked several that had good broken colour patterns. It has been through five Canadian winters, unprotected, outdoors and was the fastest of all my Undefinable kids to clump up. It blooms well and is pod and pollen fertile. I haven't seen any kids from it yet. While it was the fastest of the Undefinable kids to clump up, it was still a small clump when I broke it up so there are very few plants available and they will be made available on the Lily Auction only. I expect several other Undefinable seedlings to be available in the near future.
