One of my favorite small flowers, geum triflorum (Prairie Smoke). A unique flower that really does have a smokey look to it. The blue flower in the background is salvia pratense.
A flowering opuntia (prickly pear) cactus species. This plant has survived several years with no protection growing in nearly pure gravel on the hillside slope.
